Sacred Land, Dusk
The desolate reaches of the volcano were hotter than ever today. Lava spewed out everywhere as lava falls poured gushing lava down into the lava pools of the area, and the molten climate would basically dehydrate anyone who set foot in it in mere seconds.
And yet... one woman had set foot in this arena.
A woman with dusty grey hair and glasses in a white-and-red vest strode into the arena, and yet the heat wasn't affecting her for some strange reason. She had been brought here by her own curiosity, as she had heard dozens of hunters were being slain by a mysterious creature. This woman, Parace L'Sia, was looking for a good fight, and she was about to find one.
Parace, as she walked further into the desolate arena, noticed a pile-up of the dead bodies of hunters next to a pool of lava. "So the rumors were true." She curiously smirked. As she looked around the arena, searching for the creature that did this, she began to wonder what this creature would be like. What would it look like? What powers would it have? Would it provide a challenge? Woul-
Parace did not have to wait any longer, as she heard an echoing roar on her side. A mighty dragon flew overhead, then turned and flew around to face Parace, staring down at her as she stared up at the dragon. This beast had four legs, two mighty spiked wings, two massive horns on its head, red eyes with yellow pupils, a spiky crest on its chest, and a huge and menacing body. Parace instantly recognized this beast...
The god, the tyrant, the demon, the legendary Alatreon.
The dragon landed in front of Parace a few meters away, and it then casually strode towards Parace with vicious intent in its eyes. Parace simply smirked. "This is the mighty Alatreon, is it? Well, then..." She transformed from her usual wear into her rather... revealing battle outfit. Her purple-and-white cape flowed in the breeze as her elf-ears were revealed, ditching the glasses for a hugely revealing outfit. The Alatreon was right in front of her now, but she stood unflinching as she summoned her 4 orbs around her, and as she snapped her fingers, they spun slowly around her body.
"Show me what you can do."
Parace teleported towards the Alatreon and began smacking its face with her orbs, but this did little more than tick off the Alatreon. With a flick of its head, its horns smashed into and launched Parace sky-high. The Alatreon, from there, flew upward and was about to smash her aside with a dragonically-charged-claw, but then Parace flipped backward in midair and descended back down.
The Alatreon landed back down as well, and transitioned from a dragonic claw swipe to a dragonic charge as crimson-and-black lightning bolts surrounded its body. It bolted at Parace, who teleported out of the way and quickly launched a formation of ice arrows at the Alatreon. The arrows dug themselves into the Elder Dragon's flesh, and it angrily turned around to spit a fire tornado at Parace.
As she teleported away from the swirling tower of fire, Parace L'Sia snapped her fingers, and a flurry of waterfalls traveled in front of her at the Alatreon. The Alatreon hopped back instinctively and waited for the waterfalls to stop travelling towards it while Parace, from a distance, then sent more ice arrows flying at the beast. The Alatreon responded by whipping its head from side to side and up and down, smashing the ice arrows into tiny little pieces of ice as they collided with its horns.
As the falls disappeared, the Alatreon charged at Parace again as dragonic lightning surrounded it again. Parace quickly sent her red orb towards the beast, and with another snap of her fingers, the orb cloned itself thrice and exploded in the Alatreon's face, causing it to rear up, roar in pain and stumble back. Parace sent a giant rock fist to strike the Alatreon's exposed belly, tipping it over. Once that happened, Parace began assaulting the fallen beast with some more orb attacks until it stood up again and tried to scratch at Parace with its claw again, only for her to teleport away.
The enraged Alatreon roared, causing Parace to back away and wait for what was next. The Alatreon turned to face Parace and fired a single fire tornado at her, which she easily dodged by teleporting past it. Parace was about to smack the Blazing Black Dragon hard with another stone fist, only, once it came out, the Alatreon hopped back, suspended itself in the air momentarily, then rammed forward again, slamming Parace across the arena. HARD.
Parace L'Sia skidded to a halt among the volcanic ground, and when she quickly got back up, she saw the Alatreon charging at her again. Parace prepared another Michael Bay orb attack, but just as she sent it at the Blazing Black Dragon, it skidded to a halt and reared its head up, out of the way of the blast, and fired another fire tornado at her, this time actually hitting.
Parace L'Sia was sent crashing into the charred walls of the Sacred Land, falling back down as pain radiated throughout her entire body. To make matters worse? She was on fire, and the Alatreon was preparing another fire tornado attack. Parace quickly teleported away and snapped her fingers again, sending gushing waterfalls down from thin air once again. She teleported under one, and the flames on her were immediately doused.
The Alatreon hopped back and out of the way while shooting another fire tornado at Parace. The elven woman teleported out of the way as soon as the Alatreon fired, then got in close and launched some air cutters at the Alatreon. The Alatreon quickly began surrounding its body with dragonic lightning as it crouched down and growled at its adversary, prompting her to get out of the way, and FAST.
And fast she was, as she teleported away before the Alatreon rapidly spun around and jumped into the sky, landing back on solid ground as it finished its attack. Then, what happened next would certainly surprise Parace. The lightning around the Alatreon went from crimson-and-black to blue-and-white in color as it reared up and roared.
It was time for it to fly.
Yuya: ALRIGHT, EVERYONE! HE SAID IT! WE CAN GO HOME NOW, GIFT BAGS AT THE DOOR~!
Lina Inverse: Wha-?! HUH?! A monster from Monster Hunter.... WON?!
Saki: There's a first for everything here. Though it certainly is shocking. It took them 5 battles, but they finally managed to get a win.
Ludwig: While Parace L'Sia's reflexes, regeneration capabilities, and size may have allowed her to prolong the fight, the Alatreon pretty much outclasses her in every category.
Yuya: Yeeeaaaah, pretty much. The Alatreon can destroy the world if it so wants and can go at speeds comparable to the Dire Miralis' meteors, and Parace comes nowhere close to that feat level. And while Parace L'Sia has her status ailment attack to cripple the Alatreon with, that means damn near nothing if the Alatreon can inflict its own status ailments with almost ALL of its attacks having at least one blight to inflict enemies with!
Lina Inverse: The Alatreon can tank damn near anything hunters throw at it, while Parace will go down like a bitch to anything the maidens can throw at her, provided they can hit her. Parace's best bet was her evasion, and whenever she gets hit, I bet it hurts like hell.
Saki: Dragonblight could also negate any bonus effects to Parace's strikes, making all of her attacks lose any trace of elements, the Alatreon's greatest threat during this entire battle.
Ludwig: And about that Critical Heart where Parace traps the opponent? Yeah, while the Rathalos can get trapped, the Alatreon cannot due to its sheer size, which also factors into its strength. Overall, the Alatreon's attack arsenal and strength, endurance, and speed were enough to defeat Parace L'Sia. Many Arcana Heart fans are cheering right now- I can hear them.
Lina Inverse: Tre-on (Try) as she might, Parace L'Sia just can't contend with the might of an Elder Dragon!
Ludwig: The winner of the Season 2 Finale is the Alatreon.

The Alatreon responded with an earth-shattering roar, raising its body upward and causing lava geysers to erupt around it with its roar as it landed back down on all fours. The two locked eyes as lava rained down around them.

Parace teleported towards the Alatreon and began smacking its face with her orbs, but this did little more than tick off the Alatreon. Parace dodged as the Alatreon halted its charge and turned to face the elven woman before firing a series of icicles at her. Parace blitzed past them and began smacking the Alatreon with her orbs again, only for the Blazing Black Dragon to smash her back down to solid ground with electrically charged paws.
Parace quickly teleported away just as the Alatreon was about to follow up on that with another electric paw slam, and began summoning multiple ice arrows around her to skewer the Alatreon with, but a tail whip from the elder dragon smashed them all out of existence again. The Alatreon then turnt its head to the skies and roared as the ground glowed blue beneath Parace. Parace looked down to see this, but...

That was a distraction. Lightning bolts rained down upon Parace, sending millions of shocks through her body as she flew skyward from the impact. The Alatreon followed that up by flying over to Parace and headbutting her into the walls of the Sacred Land, dazing her as the impact formed a hole in the wall where she was. Just before the Alatreon could get another charge in, though, she came to her senses and teleported away.
The Alatreon spiraled up to avoid crashing into where Parace once was, then reoriented itself once it got Parace in its sights. It rocketed at Parace again, and she sent her fire orb forth again to knock the elder dragon off course. Except this time, the Alatreon went too fast for it, and it completely missed as the elder dragon continued on its way.
"OH SH-!" Parace went wide-eyed as she frantically teleported aside. The Alatreon skidded to the ground and stopped its charge, before turning to see a fist rocketing out at it, hitting it square in the chest. The Alatreon roared in pain momentarily before it saw Parace L'Sia again, who was sending a lot of air cutters and boulders its way. The Alatreon's horns glowed blue once more, and lightning came down in front of it again as it roared, nullifying the attacks as it zapped them into nothingness.
Parace's eyes narrowed and she frowned. "Persistent fellow, aren't you?" She then proceeded to fly right at the Alatreon before smacking it again with her orbs. The Alatreon let out a pissed growl and snapped its jaws at Parace before the elven woman teleported away. "Tut, tut!" Parace smirked as she fired more air cutters at the elder dragon. With a flap of its wings, the Alatreon dispersed the air cutters almost instantaneously before taking to the air again.
Parace and the Alatreon charged at one another, their attacks clashing in midair as they rocketed off from the Sacred Land to another destination. Boulders, air cutters, icicles, and lightning flew everywhere as the two struck at one another in midair, before Parace stunned the Alatreon with a red orb explosion attack, and then sent it falling down with a hard rock fist to the head...

The Alatreon came crashing down onto the volcanic ground with its markings turning from blue to red, but then shook its head and got up before roaring at Parace, who was hovering above it with a shit-eating grin plastered on her face. "I should expect more from the dragonic equivalent of a god."
The Alatreon bellowed in rage and readied another fire tornado, but just as it was about to fire, a HUGE fireball struck Parace from the side before she could react. And it didn't come from the Alatreon. Parace stopped in midair right before she could crash into the ground, and as she shook the cobwebs out of her head, both of the combatants looked over to see a rather pissed dragon roaring at them.
A Dreadking Rathalos. And it wasn't looking very happy to see either of the two intruding on its home.
The Alatreon turned to face the Deviant and charged right at it, with the Dreadking Rathalos doing much of the same. Upon getting close, the Alatreon uppercut the Dreadking Rathalos into the sky, and just as it did, a ray of light streaked down onto both monsters. The Alatreon flinched momentarily, but then opened its eyes to see it was untouched. The Dreadking Rathalos, however, was trapped in a crystal prison. The culprit, Parace L'Sia, was standing a distance away from the monsters with an unamused frown on her face.
"This is for sneak-attacking me, you dirty bastard."
With a flick of Parace's wrist, the crystal prison was shattered, and the Dreadking Rathalos was sent crashing back to the ground as it roared in pain. The Alatreon seized this opportunity, and swatted the Dreadking aside with its claw. HARD. The Dreadking Rathalos was sent skidding to the edge of a nearby cliff, and even as it squirmed around frantically, trying to get up, gravity took its toll, and it ultimately fell off the edge of the cliff, bellowing in horror all the way. (stop music)

Well, that was anticlimactic...

Back to the REAL battle here...
With the BFK Rathalos dealt with, both of the titans turned to face one another again. Parace sent her orbs right at the Alatreon, wasting no time, but the Alatreon spit out a fire tornado and hopped back, catching the orbs within the whirling gale of flames. Parace called them back and then teleported right up to the Alatreon before trying another rock fist attack. Except this time, the Alatreon jumped back, suspended itself in the air, then rammed forward once more, slamming Parace a long distance away right into another wall.
Getting pretty damn sick of being slammed into walls, Parace growled in mild frustration before flying back into the air and right at the Alatreon, dodging a horn swipe as she did so. She struck the Alatreon with her orbs again, with the last strike staggering the beast. The Alatreon swiped at Parace with a dragonically charged claw, but missed as Parace teleported to the other side of the beast, only for a tail whip to knock her away.
Parace rolled on the ground quickly to douse the flames she got from that attack as the Alatreon turned to face her and charged again with dragonic lightning crackling around it. Parace once more teleported out of the way, and the Alatreon had no time to get out of the way, as its horns got stuck in a wall.
"Not so fun when you are the one getting slammed into walls, hmm?" Parace's shit-eating grin said everything about how she felt about this. She teleported over to it and went to town on it with Michael Bay orb attacks, air cutters, before finishing that combo with another rock fist, staggering the Alatreon to the side. However, Parace wasn't done yet. She summoned sigils, and as they struck the Alatreon, it poisoned and slowed down the Blazing Black Dragon.
The Alatreon hissed as it got back up before roaring in rage. Parace was shot back by the force of the roar, as she was too close to it when it roared. And to add insult to injury? She was shot back to the ground...
And right on top of a lava geyser.
As it exploded and lava gushed out, Parace was sent flying as the Alatreon turned and charged at her again as dragonic lightning crackled around it, scoring a hit, even as it was slowed down, as Parace was unable to do anything to defend herself. Parace was sent crashing to the ground again, except as she got up, she began to feel a rather... strange feeling inside of her... Dragonblight had taken effect.
Parace grimaced as she teleported back up to the Alatreon to smack it around with her orbs once again, but the Alatreon simply whipped its head to the side and stuck Parace away. Parace hovered in the air for a while before sending more waterfalls at the elder dragon. But the Alatreon seemed unfazed as it charged through, and Parace's eyes widened at how the Alatreon showed signs of getting over the statuses Parace inflicted on it earlier under the torrents. She tried a Michael Bay orb attack...
WHAM!
But before it went through, the Alatreon jumped up and slammed Parace to the side with a claw slash attack. Parace stopped her fall in midair, and quickly sent a huge rock fist forward at the Alatreon, only for it to dodge by jumping over it. It was starting to get used to that attack, that was for sure. The Alatreon then resumed its charge, but Parace teleported behind it once more and shot quad air cutters at the Alatreon's tail...
SLICE!
The Alatreon's tail came clean off! It roared in agony and fell forward, before turning to face the elven woman and roaring in absolute RAGE. It once again went into flight mode as it whirled around and took flight, before charging right at Parace. Parace responded in kind by summoning a column of stone legs to try to smash the Alatreon with, but it was too quick.

With a flick of Parace's wrist, the crystal prison was shattered, and the Dreadking Rathalos was sent crashing back to the ground as it roared in pain. The Alatreon seized this opportunity, and swatted the Dreadking aside with its claw. HARD. The Dreadking Rathalos was sent skidding to the edge of a nearby cliff, and even as it squirmed around frantically, trying to get up, gravity took its toll, and it ultimately fell off the edge of the cliff, bellowing in horror all the way. (stop music)
...
Well, that was anticlimactic...

Back to the REAL battle here...
With the BFK Rathalos dealt with, both of the titans turned to face one another again. Parace sent her orbs right at the Alatreon, wasting no time, but the Alatreon spit out a fire tornado and hopped back, catching the orbs within the whirling gale of flames. Parace called them back and then teleported right up to the Alatreon before trying another rock fist attack. Except this time, the Alatreon jumped back, suspended itself in the air, then rammed forward once more, slamming Parace a long distance away right into another wall.
Getting pretty damn sick of being slammed into walls, Parace growled in mild frustration before flying back into the air and right at the Alatreon, dodging a horn swipe as she did so. She struck the Alatreon with her orbs again, with the last strike staggering the beast. The Alatreon swiped at Parace with a dragonically charged claw, but missed as Parace teleported to the other side of the beast, only for a tail whip to knock her away.
Parace rolled on the ground quickly to douse the flames she got from that attack as the Alatreon turned to face her and charged again with dragonic lightning crackling around it. Parace once more teleported out of the way, and the Alatreon had no time to get out of the way, as its horns got stuck in a wall.
"Not so fun when you are the one getting slammed into walls, hmm?" Parace's shit-eating grin said everything about how she felt about this. She teleported over to it and went to town on it with Michael Bay orb attacks, air cutters, before finishing that combo with another rock fist, staggering the Alatreon to the side. However, Parace wasn't done yet. She summoned sigils, and as they struck the Alatreon, it poisoned and slowed down the Blazing Black Dragon.
The Alatreon hissed as it got back up before roaring in rage. Parace was shot back by the force of the roar, as she was too close to it when it roared. And to add insult to injury? She was shot back to the ground...
And right on top of a lava geyser.
As it exploded and lava gushed out, Parace was sent flying as the Alatreon turned and charged at her again as dragonic lightning crackled around it, scoring a hit, even as it was slowed down, as Parace was unable to do anything to defend herself. Parace was sent crashing to the ground again, except as she got up, she began to feel a rather... strange feeling inside of her... Dragonblight had taken effect.
Parace grimaced as she teleported back up to the Alatreon to smack it around with her orbs once again, but the Alatreon simply whipped its head to the side and stuck Parace away. Parace hovered in the air for a while before sending more waterfalls at the elder dragon. But the Alatreon seemed unfazed as it charged through, and Parace's eyes widened at how the Alatreon showed signs of getting over the statuses Parace inflicted on it earlier under the torrents. She tried a Michael Bay orb attack...
WHAM!
But before it went through, the Alatreon jumped up and slammed Parace to the side with a claw slash attack. Parace stopped her fall in midair, and quickly sent a huge rock fist forward at the Alatreon, only for it to dodge by jumping over it. It was starting to get used to that attack, that was for sure. The Alatreon then resumed its charge, but Parace teleported behind it once more and shot quad air cutters at the Alatreon's tail...
SLICE!
The Alatreon's tail came clean off! It roared in agony and fell forward, before turning to face the elven woman and roaring in absolute RAGE. It once again went into flight mode as it whirled around and took flight, before charging right at Parace. Parace responded in kind by summoning a column of stone legs to try to smash the Alatreon with, but it was too quick.
The Alatreon tackled Parace into another area of the Volcano, and as they tumbled to the ground, they continued their clash with no signs of slowing down. They exchanged attacks as Parace unleashed all she had on the Alatreon, while the Alatreon struck back with more lightning and ice attacks. As their clash continued outside the Volcano, The Alatreon took to the sky and breathed a freezing gale of wind onto Parace, freezing her solid.
The Alatreon followed that up with an electric paw slam, smashing Parace out of the heap of ice she was in and sending her skidding across the terrain. Parace got back up, but quite weakly as the Alatreon charged at her once more. Parace attempted another rock fist attack, but the Alatreon did a somersault and struck her as it came back down then. Parace howled in agony as she skidded to the ground again, but got back up and out of the way as the Alatreon charged at her again.
Then, Parace decided to pull out her trump card. She encased herself in a crystal prison of her OWN, boosting her healing capabilities. However, the Alatreon was quick to destroy it with two electric paw slams. Parace grinned as she sent another attack onto the Alatreon, with a ray of light striking it...
...But imagine Parace's surprise, when even at point-blank, the Alatreon wasn't struck by THAT. The Alatreon and Parace flew up as the Alatreon summoned lightning bolts to strike Parace with and Parace sent ice arrows at the beast. Lightning fell around Parace and her ice arrows, shattering the arrows as the Alatreon attacked with ice shards, with Parace easily dodging and following up with a group orb attack, flinching the Alatreon momentarily.

The two spiraled higher and higher into the air as they clashed, becoming mere specks to the naked eye as they vanished into the sky.
At this point? It was anyone's game.

The Alatreon spat huge icicles at the projectiles, destroying them even as they chipped away at the icicles themselves.
Parace quickly flew out of the way, and sent her Red orbs at the Alatreon again, but it charged and the attack missed. Parace sent a column of rock legs down to smash the Alatreon back to the ground with, but it avoided them and continued its charge, roaring and summoning lightning all the way.
Parace dodged that charge, but the Alatreon was quick to knock Parace around with a tail whip. Parace regained balance just as the Blazing Black Dragon charged at her again. Parace was quick to dodge and send her orbs at the Alatreon, only to be struck down by one of the lightning bolts the Alatreon was summoning.
The Alatreon roared and flew at Parace with electrically charged paws as it flew down at Parace, hoping to get another hit in. Except instead of Parace, it hit a rock fist she had used to counter with. Safe to say, the counter wasn't exactly the smartest thing to use in a time like this, as the Alatreon followed that up as well with a freezing breath attack, which ALMOST hit Parace as she just barely got out of the way.
The Alatreon hissed and spiraled into the air, before breathing its freezing breath into the sky, summoning huge icicles to fall down on and skewer Parace with. Parace frantically swerved around the icicle storm, and one even just barely grazed her cape. She flinched before another one struck her, sending her spiraling out of control.
As it finished its Grand Ice Storm attack, the Alatreon charged at Parace once more with lightning crackling around its horns. Parace just barely dodged, and while she was showing signs of tiring, the Alatreon was showing no such signs. The Alatreon spat more icicles at Parace as she summoned more waterfalls from thin air to counter with, forcing the icicles downward.
The Alatreon roared and summoned more lightning to strike Parace with, but she continued to dodge and sent a flurry of rocks right at the Alatreon. The Blazing Black dragon dodged again, and a lightning bolt struck Parace from above due to her being too focused on hitting her adversary. This moment of weakness was all the Alatreon needed, as it charged straight at Parace while she was stunned, horns pointed right at her...
K-KKRRRRSSSHHH
The Alatreon jammed its horns right through Parace's torso. Parace forcefully coughed up blood as the Alatreon shook its head downwards, dislodging her from her horns and throwing her down to Earth with the wound in her chest still bleeding. As they descended back down to Earth, The Alatreon roared once more, sending multiple lightning bolts down on Parace, and the Alatreon even added insult to injury by spitting icicles at her.
These attacks accelerated Parace's fall, and to finish her off, the Alatreon rammed into Parace at full force. As their fall accelerated, Parace weakly looked up as her orbs vanished around her, seeing the beautiful night sky for the last time ever. She weakly smiled for a second.
"So this is how it ends, is it...?"
The Alatreon and Parace then collided into a mountaintop...
KAH-GOOOOOOOOOOOM! (stop music)
The mountaintop was utterly OBLITERATED by the force of the smash attack. A group of scientists who were in the mountains at the time rushed over to the site of the crash to see the rubble from the top of the mountain with lifeless body of Parace L'Sia atop it... and then they looked up in awe to see the Alatreon simply growl at them, before taking flight and leaving the mountains for its home.
One thing was for sure: It was time for an army of hunters to do what they do best.
At this point? It was anyone's game.

Lina Inverse: Wha-?! HUH?! A monster from Monster Hunter.... WON?!
Saki: There's a first for everything here. Though it certainly is shocking. It took them 5 battles, but they finally managed to get a win.
Ludwig: While Parace L'Sia's reflexes, regeneration capabilities, and size may have allowed her to prolong the fight, the Alatreon pretty much outclasses her in every category.
Yuya: Yeeeaaaah, pretty much. The Alatreon can destroy the world if it so wants and can go at speeds comparable to the Dire Miralis' meteors, and Parace comes nowhere close to that feat level. And while Parace L'Sia has her status ailment attack to cripple the Alatreon with, that means damn near nothing if the Alatreon can inflict its own status ailments with almost ALL of its attacks having at least one blight to inflict enemies with!
Lina Inverse: The Alatreon can tank damn near anything hunters throw at it, while Parace will go down like a bitch to anything the maidens can throw at her, provided they can hit her. Parace's best bet was her evasion, and whenever she gets hit, I bet it hurts like hell.
Saki: Dragonblight could also negate any bonus effects to Parace's strikes, making all of her attacks lose any trace of elements, the Alatreon's greatest threat during this entire battle.
Ludwig: And about that Critical Heart where Parace traps the opponent? Yeah, while the Rathalos can get trapped, the Alatreon cannot due to its sheer size, which also factors into its strength. Overall, the Alatreon's attack arsenal and strength, endurance, and speed were enough to defeat Parace L'Sia. Many Arcana Heart fans are cheering right now- I can hear them.
Lina Inverse: Tre-on (Try) as she might, Parace L'Sia just can't contend with the might of an Elder Dragon!
Ludwig: The winner of the Season 2 Finale is the Alatreon.

I do wonder if the Iceborne version of Alatreon would win this easier or not, with all the changes they added to it (waterblight-inflicting oil, fire active, ice active, and dragon active, Escaton Judgement that will kill you almost instantly if you don't weaken it with elemental damage, a smaller size, etc). Nevertheless, great fight!
